What Children Learn in PreK-3
- Early Literacy & Pre-Writing Children listen to and discuss stories, explore letters and sounds, and begin to recognize their names and other familiar words. Teachers introduce pre-writing skills through drawing, tracing, and early writing activities such as writing their name and labeling simple pictures.
- Math Concepts & Science Discovery Hands-on activities with counting, sorting, measuring, and patterning help children build a strong foundation for early math. Science exploration—through nature, simple experiments, and observation— encourages curiosity, questioning, and early scientific thinking.
- Social-Emotional Skills & Problem-Solving PreK-3 students practice sharing, taking turns, and working in small groups. Teachers guide children in naming feelings, using words to solve conflicts, and choosing respectful behaviors so they can build healthy friendships and classroom community.

A Day Designed for Growing Learners
Our PreK-3 classroom follows a consistent daily rhythm that balances structured learning with plenty of time for play and exploration.
A typical day includes arrival and greeting with teachers, morning meeting and circle time with songs, stories, and discussions, learning centers for literacy, math, science, and dramatic play, snack and self-help routines, outdoor play for gross-motor development, small-group instruction focused on targeted skills, and closing circle with reflection, stories, or music. Quiet choices and rest times help children reset and stay ready to learn.
Children learn to follow multi-step directions, move between activities, care for materials, and take greater responsibility for personal belongings. These routines help three-year-olds feel capable, organized, and ready for the more advanced expectations of PreK-4.
"Intentional, Play-Based Learning for Three-Year-Olds"
In our PreK-3 classroom, The Creative Curriculum becomes more intentional and structured while still rooted in imaginative and hands-on learning. Teachers design lessons that foster early literacy, beginning writing skills, math concepts, science discovery, and creative expression in ways that feel engaging and developmentally appropriate for three-year-olds.

What is the main goal of the PreK-3 Program?
PreK-3 is designed to bridge the gap between toddler classrooms and PreK-4. Our goal is to help three-year-olds develop early academic skills, stronger social-emotional abilities, and the independence they need to feel confident and successful in the next stage of their school journey.
How does PreK-3 prepare children for PreK-4?
PreK-3 builds the foundation for PreK-4 by strengthening classroom routines, listening and focus, early reading and math concepts, and cooperative play. Children practice following directions, participating in group learning, and using age-appropriate academic and social skills that will be deepened in PreK-4.
What kind of extracurriculars are offered in Prek-3?
At The Early Education Center T., learning goes beyond the classroom! Our students enjoy a variety of enrichment activities included in tuition, such as Music with Ms. Jessica, Dance with Coach Alfredo, PE with Playball 4 Life, and upcoming Art Classes — all designed to spark creativity, movement, and joy.
