Two's Program.
- Language & Early Literacy: Children listen to and retell short stories, sing songs, explore picture books, and begin to recognize their names and familiar words. Teachers model rich vocabulary and encourage children to use words to express needs, ideas, and feelings.
- Early Math & Thinking Skills: Through hands-on activities like counting toys, sorting by color or size, building with blocks, and simple pattern games, two-year-olds start to develop number sense, classification, and early problem-solving skills.
- Social-Emotional Development: Twos are learning to take turns, share materials, and play alongside and with others. Teachers guide children in naming emotions, practicing gentle hands, and using words or simple strategies to solve conflicts and build friendships.
- Independence & Self-Help Skills: Children practice washing hands, helping with clean-up, making simple choices, and beginning self-care routines like dressing and, in Twos B, potty training. These everyday tasks support emerging independence and responsibility.
Our Twos classrooms follow a consistent, predictable daily rhythm that helps children feel secure while keeping them engaged and active.
A typical day includes arrival and greeting with teachers, morning circle with songs, movement, and simple games, center time with literacy, math, and dramatic play areas, snacks and self-help routines, outdoor play for gross-motor development, small-group activities and collaborative projects, and story time and quiet choices before rest.
In Twos B, potty-training routines are woven into the day in a calm, supportive way.
